How to add a custom link to the main menu on your website

Step 1. From the Dashboard menu, select Appearance then click on Menus.

Step 2. Click on Custom Links on the left-hand side.

Step 3. In the fields shown, add a URL and Link Text then click Add to Menu.

Step 4. If done correctly, the new menu item will appear on the right under Menu Structure. (last item) Click and drag the item to its desired location in the navigation.

NOTE: All modules that are left justified will be primary items in the navigation, and those indented to the right will be secondary in a drop-down menu. You can also add a page as a tertiary option if you choose to do so.

Open a custom link in a new window

Step 1. Click on the custom link you’ve created.

Step 2. Select Open link in a new window/tab under the link attribute. Click Save Menu.

This will now open any link you create in a new window rather than in the same window as the website.
