BoatWizard-Managed Feed Listings
Customers using listing feeds can now edit and manage their listings directly in BoatWizard Inventory.
Previously, listings imported through a feed could only be updated by the feed itself. With the BoatWizard-Managed Feed Listings enabled, listings are imported once and can then be managed/edited directly in the BoatWizard Inventory interface.
This gives your team more control and allows you to make updates without resending feed data.
Note: This is an optional service that will only be activated if you choose to have it.
How it Works
When your listing feed runs:
- Listings are imported into BoatWizard Inventory
- Each successful listing receives a unique BoatWizard ID
- After import, the listing can be edited directly in BoatWizard
Important: Feed Updates Will Not Apply to Existing Listings
After a listing has been imported into BoatWizard, future updates sent through the feed will not be applied to that listing. If you make updates in your external system and resend the listing through the feed:
- The update will not sync to BoatWizard
- The import will fail because the listing already exists
- An error message will appear in the import report
To update pricing, descriptions, photos, or other listing details, changes must be made directly in BoatWizard Inventory.
You can also manage listing statuses directly within BoatWizard, including marking a boat as Sold. Sold listings count toward your sold boat contribution requirements.
Adding New Listings
Your feed can continue sending new listings at any time. When a new listing is received:
- BoatWizard creates the listing in Inventory
- The listing becomes editable directly in BoatWizard
If the same listing is sent again after it already exists:
- The import will fail for that listing
- An error message will indicate that the listing already exists
